Lake Fred is an actual lake located in the flat pinelands of southern New Jersey. It is also one of my knicknames acquired while I was at college. There is (or was) a Lake Fred Folk Festival in the springtime.
I saw this great picture on another blogsite that you have to see. It is the floating swamp shack in the alligator swamp exhibit newly decorated to reflect the post-Katrina mode complete with blue tarped roof, taped up refrigerator outside and an MRE. Here's the link.

I was a Hurricane Katrina evacuee working & living in exile in Texas. After 7 months in Houston, I returned to Louisiana for 11 months, only to be transfered back to Houston. Arggh!
